Food is very nicely prepared and served graciously. And shareable. This restaurant has an amazing promotion between 5 and 6 pm on week days: salad or soup of the day, salmon or chicken or meat with vegetables and rice or mashed potatoes, desert and wine for about 30 dollars! The food is delicious and the This has become my "go to" restaurant in San Francisco where I live part of the year.

We started with French onion soup. The broth was insipid, there was no crouton, just really rubbery cheese. My friend had the eggplant which was good but was also covered with as much cheese as eggplant. My crab cakes arrived burned with a black crust I looked at them, asked the water if my crab cakes were burned and he asked me if I wanted him to take them back, He took them back and after a long wait brought what looked like the same plate, same burned crab cakes. I forked the burnt crust off and the crab cake middles were eatable with very fine flaky crab, dry not succulent.

For the price I expected at least a few lumps. I will gladly pay the price for good food. The quality here did not match the prices. Based on our excellent first visit we decided to visit again for thanksgiving.

When we arrived for our 8pm sitting the restaurant was in chaos. It became apparent that only one server was working for a completely full restaurant plus two in the kitchen. The food was good though they ran out of mashed potatoes so we were offered fries instead.

We would go back based on our first visit however I would advise them to have more than one server working on an evening such as thanksgiving. A small really cosy place that has a fabulous Lunch menu.

They also serve breakfast for lunch. The French Toast is especially yummy. It attracts an elderly, loyal clientele. It has two outside tables on a somewhat busy street The only waiter is French and very friendly. I have never seen children there. I love it! Parking is fairly My wife and I dropped in here on our first night in San Francisco, due to the ambience and the menu.

We were not disappointed. Excellent service, quick delivery of our meals, delicious food, generous portions. I had the half chicken free range with an And the creme brulee was a lot better than most, very pleasing meal overall.

Simple menu and foods that are quite reasonable. Most of the tables were gone by 7, so i don't know how it's like to get a table. Lamb Lentil stew was just ok, but i like the spot and relaxed atmosphere. Weird thing, there is a safe in the restroom. We went here as a second pick after the wait at Mama's was too long to bear.

Most of the food was good but nothing outstanding. Good service and fun location though, perhaps their dinner menu is more exciting? Cafe Divine is very inviting; by day it is rather sunny with big windows and outdoor tables overlooking Washington Square Park and by night, it is decorated with white holiday lights and votive candles glow on every table. Friday night, I dined solo and had a really nice experience. It was cold and foggy outside and I sat inside at a corner table with a perfect view of the park and everyone passing by.

Divine has a wonderful prie fix menu where you choose from one of the selected nightly dinners and it is accompanied by warm, marinated olives, soup or salad, bread and either a glass of wine or dessert.

The olives were wonderfully flavorful, the bread was fresh, the house mixed salad was crisp and tasty, the lamb stew and garlic mashed potatoes were delicious and comforting and the brownie sundae for dessert was excellent. The brownie tasted like Mom's. I just love the ambiance of this cafe with its artwork and high ceilings. They have a bar where one can drink or eat at. It feels like the quintissential SF cafe. I enjoy weekend breakfasts at Divine but it can be a timely ordeal. Don't ever go hungry and dont expec't 5-star service.
