Most commonly these residents have chosen a career specialty that requires one year of fundamental clinical skill education and which may also contain certain specific experiences or the development of desired skills. During the Transitional Year residency training at Garden City Hospital, each resident is expected to develop strong clinical skills during a year that emphasizes experience in Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, General Surgery, Emergency Medicine plus approved elective rotations. Residents must demonstrate proficiency in comprehensive patient evaluation, assessment and reporting skills.
